Oliver Myers

Oliver has a background in environmental policy and domestic energy efficiency and is the chair of the Camden Climate Change Alliance Advisory Board. Since joining Camden in 1997 Oliver has been instrumental in a number of successful schemes including achieving Beacon Council Status for Camden for its efforts in tackling fuel poverty. Oliver is a former Chair of the London HECA Forum, the London Energy Partnership Energy Efficiency Task Group, and the National Energy Efficiency Partnership for Homes Local Authority Group. Oliver is the current chair of the national Carbon Action Network.
Oliver brings his wealth of experience in tackling climate change into the development of the Camden Climate Change Alliance, helping to transform the needs of its members into innovative support services.

 

Elle Todd

Elle is a senior associate at Olswang, a law firm with its main offices in Holborn. Elle has also been the driving force behind Olswang's green initiatives which started in 2005 and have included successful measures such as increasing recycling to over 80% of all waste (and still increasing!) and replacement of all disposable cutlery, cups and bottles with durable versions. Olswang likes to share its own experiences of going green to help other businesses to do the same which it does by running green office surgeries for clients and through its involvement with the Camden Climate Change Alliance.

 

Simon Pitkeathley

Simon is Chief Executive of Camden Town Unlimited, the Business Improvement District for Camden Town, and a founding member of the Camden Climate Change Alliance. Simon represents some 300 businesses in his area, working with them to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour, promote the area and is developing a large-scale streetscape plan in conjunction with the council.

Simon's advice and guidance ensures that the Camden Climate Change Alliance meets the needs of the businesses that Camden Town Unlimited represents.

 

Roger Madelin 

Roger has been at the property company Argent for 22 years. Argent has a 50% interest in the King's Cross Central General Partnership and is the development and asset manager for the whole of the 67 acres of railway lands between and to the north of King's Cross and St. Pancras stations.At King's Cross Argent is delivering exceptional performance above minimum standards. 

Since the late 1980s Argent has led the charge for more energy efficient and sustainable buildings, in 1991 one of Argent’s designs achieved one of the first BREEAM Excellent Ratings. From 1994 all of Argent’s buildings have achieved high standards of environmental sustainability. Roger was awarded a CBE in 2007 for Services to Sustainable Development.

Roger, and Argent, bring considerable knowledge and experience of sustainable development to the Camden Climate Change Alliance.

 

Rachel Starling

Rachel is Environment Manager for HS1 Ltd, the owner of the high-speed railway between London St Pancras and the Channel Tunnel. Rachel was previously Environment Manager for URN during the design and construction of the railway, and has previously worked in consultancy and local government in the UK and overseas.
Rachel has tutored at the Open University and held advisory positions in several local government / community schemes.

 

Martin Gummer

Martin is the Operational Estate Manager for Birkbeck, University of London and is responsible for the efficient and effective management of the buildings and equipment which make up the College's estate. He is currently acting as the Project Co-ordinator for the implementation of an Environmental Management System across the College in accordance with BS 8555. Martin has over twenty-five years experience in the construction sector mainly in local government and now Higher Education.

Martin is seeking to personally cut his carbon footprint by travelling by public and personal powered transport only to and from work, using only energy efficient lighting, recycling old newspapers to make briquettes for his open fire and buying only 'AAA' energy rated electrical appliances.
